Digital Media Center Holds Open House on October 16

​Tours and Demonstrations Will Take Community behind the Scenes

WHAT:

The Digital Media Center invites the community to visit and tour this state-of-the-art educational facility to learn more about its academic programs.

Tours will take you behind the scenes in Santa Ana College’s TV/Video Communications, Digital Media Arts and Digital Music departments. Santa Ana College student works will be showcased, including music scored for videos, digital media art projects, as well as TV/video productions. The public will have a chance to visit the TV studio where the award-winning Around and About Orange County and Noticiero Latino are produced. In all departments, the cutting-edge equipment used in their academic programs will be showcased and demonstrated.

WHY:

Since 2006, the 28,000-square-foot facility, has married a business incubator for emerging digital media companies with Santa Ana College instructional space. Santa Ana College students benefit from a fully-equipped, four-camera studio with master control room; six digital editing bays; six DVD authoring and computer-generated graphics workstations; three classrooms equipped with remote desktop connection software that support courses in graphic design, digital media arts, digital music, TV/video production; two conference rooms; and access to a high-speed network infrastructure, wireless Ethernet, and a centralized server. The instructional programs housed in the Digital Media Center prepare students for in-demand careers.

About the Digital Media Center
The Digital Media Center (DMC), an economic development program of Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) and a Santa Ana College (SAC) instructional center, joins technology, business, and education under one roof. The DMC was made possible through a $1.6 million U.S. Department of Commerce grant facilitated by the WRJ Group, land donated by the City of Santa Ana and Measure E funds.
