Santa Ana College's Music Department Presents "Spring Spectacular!" Collaborative Concert Set for March 25 at SAC's Phillips Hall Theatre

​(Santa Ana, CA) - The Santa Ana College (SAC) Music Department will present its Spring Spectacular! on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at SAC’s Phillips Hall Theatre.

This concert will be a collaboration featuring SAC Associate Professor of Music Dr. Jungwon Jin, who will perform Piano Concerto in A minor by Robert Schumann with the Santiago Canyon College (SCC) Community Orchestra conducted by SCC Fine and Performing Arts Chair Dr. Binh Vu. The orchestra will also perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1.

Also featured in the Spring Spectacular! are the SCC and SAC Chamber Choirs directed by SAC Director of Choral Music Dr. Elliott Jones. The choirs will perform Mass in C by Franz Schubert.

The world premiere of SAC’s Music Department’s Chair Dr. Brian Kehlenbach’s symphonic poem Beside the Golden Door will cap the night’s performances. The title of this piece comes from the last line of the inscription of the Statue of Liberty.

Special guests during the night’s performances will be mezzo soprano Dr. Bonita Nahoum Jaros and soprano Tam-Dan Belinda Gonzalez.

General admission tickets are $15, staff and seniors are $12, students with an ID are $9.99, and children ages 5-14 are $5. Tickets are available at www.sac.edu/music or at the door. VIP special reserved tickets are available for purchase online for $50, which includes a $35 donation to the SAC Friends of Music.
