In compliance with the Student-Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-542), the Rancho Santiago Community College District (and its colleges, Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College) makes available completion and transfer rates to all current and prospective students.
For this calculation, a fall cohort of all certificate, degree, and transfer-seeking first-time, full-time students are tracked over a three-year or six-year period. The tracking periods of the cohorts are six (6) years for Santa Ana College (SAC), and three (3) years for Santiago Canyon College (SCC) and statewide. Further information about the rates and

Chancellor's Office, California Community Colleges at http://srtk.cccco.edu/index.asp. Both SAC and SCC completion and transfer rates, along with the overall statewide rates, are in the graphs below:

The "completion rate" represents students who attained a certificate or degree or became "transfer-prepared" during a six-year (SAC students) and three-year period (SCC students). Students who are "transfer-prepared" have completed 60 transferable units with a GPA of 2.0 or better.

The "transfer rate" represents students who transferred to another postsecondary institution (UC, CSU or another California Community College) prior to attaining a degree, certificate, or becoming "transfer-prepared" during the six-year period (SAC students) and three-year period (SCC students).
These rates do not represent the success rates of the entire student population at Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College, nor do they account for student outcomes occurring after this three-year tracking period.
