RSCCD Celebrates the Class of 2025

Nearly 10,000 degrees, certificates, and awards were conferred to students across the Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) as proud graduates turned their tassels, celebrating their graduation from Santa Ana College (SAC) and Santiago Canyon College (SCC).

These graduates proudly walked across the stage, earning associate degrees, certificates, and high school diplomas through RSCCD’s credit and Continuing Education programs. The RSCCD Class of 2025 reflects the life-changing role of community colleges in providing affordable, high-quality education and workforce preparation across Orange County.

Santa Ana College’s president, Dr. Annebelle Nery, reflected on her own journey sharing with the pack stadium of graduates, family and friends, “I began my academic journey at a community college, and I understand how meaningful this night is. I know what it means to navigate systems that weren’t built for us, and to keep showing up anyway. I am the proud daughter of formerly undocumented parents. I’ve walked a road shaped by perseverance. And like you, I found strength in community and opportunity in education. I beat the odds, and so have you.”

Similarly, Santiago Canyon College’s president, Dr. Jeannie Kim, reminded students that "you are not just graduates. You are the prototype of a new era. The first generation of post-pandemic, AI-era learners. The ones who didn't follow the script - you rewrote it....while the future will be built with algorithms, it will be led by humans.  It will be transformed by the bravest humans—people like you, who have faced challenge with grit, led with heart, and stood firm in moments of doubt. " This year marks SCC's 25-year anniversary in serving the community.

While acknowledging another record-breaking year of students enrolled at SAC and SCC, Chancellor Marvin Martinez exhorted the families, friends, and guests in the audience that the truly exceptional feat is not in numbers of degrees conferred but the impact these students have in their families and community. Many graduates overcame tremendous challenges—balancing jobs, families, and responsibilities while pursuing their education. These students turned obstacles into opportunities, and their stories are a source of inspiration.

As the Class of 2025 steps into the next chapter of their lives, whether transferring to four-year universities, entering the workforce, or continuing their education, they carry with them the knowledge, confidence, and resilience cultivated at SAC and SCC. Their achievements are a testament to the transformative power of community colleges and the unwavering support of faculty, staff, and loved ones.

The Rancho Santiago Community College District celebrates not just a graduation, but a beginning. The future is brighter because of the dreams, determination, and dedication of the Class of 2025. Congratulations, graduates!

Relive the joy of Commencement at SAC and SCC.
