(Santa Ana, Calif.) –Santa Ana College (SAC) Foundation's Raising the Game campaign book - the first marketing effort for the newly launched Raising the Game campaign, has received two prestigious awards: the SILVER Award in Fundraising Publications -- Case Statements/General Cultivation Publications from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the 2019 Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR).
The Raising the Game marketing piece makes the case for the substantial need to increase scholarship funding, program funding, as well as support for Fine & Performing Arts as a direct correlation to increase overall certificate and degree completion, transfer completion, and meet Orange County’s economic and employer needs. The piece features framed-out data and highlights uplifting stories of student success and donors who are making a difference in the lives of students, every day.
"We received 543 submissions this year, and SAC Foundation's excellent work stood out among the best,” said Jennifer Mora, CASE Awards for Excellence co-chair. “One of our objectives is to showcase the best practices among our colleagues, and SAC Foundation's efforts will be recognized as an example for others to emulate. Thank you for producing the kind of work that brings respect and best practices to our profession.”
In coming months, the campaign piece, in addition to a website, will introduce the college’s current donors, community leaders, current and potential partners, and friends of the college to the campaign with the intention of inspiring a higher level of philanthropy for Santa Ana College students.
"We want to see Santa Ana College thrive and be the best of the best, so we need to rise to the challenge of investing and creating a strong foundation for its future. That’s why giving to SAC is so important. It is an investment that lives on in the students you support, in the lives of their children, in the friends they inspire, and in the life of the community that is lifted up by their success," said Rossina Gallegos, President, Santa Ana College Foundation Board of Directors.
SAC students, donors, and alumni who Raise their Game are the heart of the marketing piece. The booklet includes three donor feature stories, which speak to the power of giving. The cover features a woman looking up, symbolizing the notion Santa Ana College students are looking up, focused on reaching new heights, and "Raising the Game." Integrating the cityscape of Santa Ana represents the college's community-centered focus. Every story and photo selected displays a different facet of the Santa Ana College campus, from the students, to the quantitative data regarding the need for support, to the powerful donors who have supported SAC for 105 years. Each page was carefully crafted to give readers the most comprehensive information on why the work being done at Santa Ana College is critically important to the community at large.
Santa Ana College President Dr. Linda Rose will attend the Awards of Excellence Dessert Reception on Thursday, March 5, and the Awards Luncheon on Friday, March 6, at the CASE Connect West Conference in San Francisco to celebrate receiving a SILVER Award in Fundraising Publications -- Case Statements/General and Cultivation Publications. As finalists for the Paragon Award, members of the SAC College Advancement Team, as well as the Public Relations team, will attend NCMPR's 2020 national conference in Orlando on Monday, March 23, where NCMPR will honor the best in community college design and communication during evening festivities.
