Elected to the Board in November 2008, Trustee Mark McLoughlin, CPSM, brings 30 years of Fortune 500 corporate experience to his post. McLoughlin serves as the Board’s vice president in 2012 and represents Trustee Area 5. He continues to serve on the RSCCD Facilities and Legislative Committees, and is a member of the District Foundation Board.
Since joining the executive board of directors of the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce, McLoughlin has worked as a strong advocate for workforce development and career technical training programs, including High School Inc. (HS Inc.), a unique partnership between the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD), Chamber and Santa Ana College. He is a member of the HS Inc. Board of Directors and is a champion for the HS Inc. Manufacturing Academy.
As the chair of the SAUSD Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee, the past co-chair of the successful SAUSD Measure G campaign (that provided new and modernized classrooms for 55,000 K-12 students) and a previous member of the school district’s Budget Reduction Committee, McLoughlin brings important facility and fiscal management experience to the Board of Trustees. His insight and expertise in these areas support decision-making around RSCCD’s future facility needs, including ensuring that students have access to the latest technology in a safe learning environment.
He is currently the president of the Floral Park Neighborhood Association (FPNA), chairman of FPNA Historic Designation Committee and a facilitator of the Santa Ana Community Neighborhood Leadership Training Program.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering from Syracuse University and masters’ degrees in Operations Research and Business Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is also a nationally certified Supply Chain Management Professional.
He and his wife, Janelle, have been residents of the district for more than 20 years.
