​Employees have a runoff period and grace period.  The grace period gives employees an additional two and a half months following the end of the plan year in which they can incur Health FSA claims and still receive reimbursements.  The Runoff Period is the three months after the plan year ends when employees are able to submit claims that were incurred during the previous plan year (including those costs incurred during the grace period).
