Governmental Relations

Shaping public policy affecting higher education, community colleges and their students is the goal of the college district’s government relations function. It takes a leadership position on issues relating to student access and transfer to other higher education opportunities; curriculum development; community college governance; and development of the workforce. In addition, it advocates for adequate, equitable and predictable community college funding as a condition for effective services to students.

The college district is a member of the Orange County Community Colleges Legislative Task Force, a coalition of the four community college districts in Orange County. For more about the legislative task force, we invite you to review its mission and legislative direction.
