16th Annual Hawks Golf Tournament on April 22 Supports Santiago Canyon College Academic Programs and Athlete-Scholars’ Scholarships

(Orange, CA)— Santiago Canyon College Foundation (SCCF) will host the sixteenth annual Hawks Golf Tournament on Friday, April 22, at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club. At the event, friends and supporters of the college will enjoy a day of friendly competition to raise funds for the college’s athletic programs, scholarships for student-athletes, as well as for academic and student enrichment programs.

Tracy Vineyard, a recipient of a scholarship funded by the 2015 tournament, learned about this opportunity through her track and field coach, Shawn Cummins. To Vineyard, the scholarship meant that her hard work on and off the field was recognized and appreciated. The scholarship helped ease her transition to San Francisco State University as a communications studies major by funding the purchase of books and helping pay for her classes. Vineyard said, “The scholarship award is definitely something I will never forget, and a memory I will always cherish.”

Registration is now open for the tournament and early-bird rates are available with payment by March 31. For 18 holes of golf, early-bird registration is: foursome - $900, twosome - $450, single player - $225. Registration includes, a round of golf, on-cart lunch, and dinner. Non-golfers who want to get in on the fun can opt to purchase dinner only for $50. The last day for early-bird registration is March 31, but golfers can register through April 15.
On tournament day, registration begins at 10:00 a.m.; golfers can enter a putting contest at 10:30 a.m.; and the tournament scramble begins at noon. Throughout the day there will be on-course contests that include men’s/women’s closest to the pin and a marshmallow drive. The day finishes with a Wrangler Gill dinner, auction and awards program.

Registration can be completed online at www.sccollege.edu/golftournament. Sponsorships are also available ranging from $250 to $7,500.
