Santa Ana, Calif. – Now in its 21st year, the Santa Ana College (SAC) Music Department will host its annual Guitar Ensemble concert, featuring performances by Santa Ana College students on Saturday, November 18 at 2:30 p.m.
Students with varying skill levels will perform throughout the concert, with many of the musical arrangements specifically written or arranged for the group. Performances will be an enjoyable mix of solo guitarist, duets, quartets and the full 20 guitar ensemble. Selections for this year’s concert will include music with a traditional Spanish flair, an arrangement of The Nutcracker Suite and Glenn Miller’s “In the Mood.”

Established in 1997 by SAC music professor David Adele, the Santa Ana College Guitar Ensemble is both a class and performance group. Adele, a trained classical guitarist, teaches Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Classical Guitar, Advanced Classical Guitar Technique and Repertoire and the Guitar Ensemble course at SAC. He has studied with Michael Giraldin, Rodrigo Rodriguez and extensively with David Grimes throughout his 20-plus years of playing. Adele has additionally been instructed in over 20 different master-classes under the tutelage of Andrew York, William Kanengiser David Leisner, Nikita Koshkin, John Duarte, Margarita Escarpa, Marc Teicholz and Ricardo Cabo, among others. His performing group, The Denali Guitar Duo, released its debut CD in 2002.
