Santiago Canyon College’s Art Gallery Begins 2018 with Solo Show by Alumna Kay Dudacek

(Orange, CA)— Former Santiago Canyon College (SCC) art student Kay Dudacek takes viewers on “An Artist’s Journey” in her new solo show at the SCC Art Gallery from February 6 through March 8.

“It seems like I’ve been a student forever,” said Dudacek. “There is one thing about becoming an artist; you never stop learning your craft. I am inspired by the beauty of the outdoors. Many of my paintings are from locations that I have traveled to while on bicycling tours.”

Working in oil paints, Dudacek, a full-time artist who paints from her Orange County studio, creates expressive images focused on a rage of themes – everything from cultural icons to the bond shared by United States Marines and their companion animals.

“As a retired veterinary technician my other passion is animals; their eyes tell a story,” Dudacek said. “My style is leaning towards impressionistic. I prefer to use as few strokes as possible to capture the spontaneity and natural beauty of the landscapes around me."
