Santiago Canyon College Alumnus Leo Ulfelder’s Work Launches Exhibit Season at SCC Art Gallery

Talented Alumnus Show Runs Through October 19

(Orange, CA)— Santiago Canyon College (SCC) in Orange is pleased to introduce its fall art season with a dramatic exhibit of works by alumnus Leo Ulfelder. The show, entitled “Since You’ve Been Gone” runs through October 19, 2017 at the SCC Art Gallery on campus.

“It is very gratifying for the SCC art program to host a former student exhibit at the SCC Art Gallery,” said Robbie Miller, SCC associate professor of art and art department chair. “Leo Ulfelder revealed great talent during his years at SCC and we look forward to his continued success in the art world.”

Ulfelder, who was awarded a bachelor’s degree in fine arts (BFA) from California State University, Fullerton in 2016, is an emerging talent whose energetic drawings and paintings push the human form through a skewed imagination using vivid colors, theatrical gestures, and dark and somber undertones that create celebration within isolation, disease and death.

The SCC Art Gallery, now in its second year, is located on the east side of the D Building on the SCC campus at 8045 East Chapman Avenue in Orange. Visitors can enter the gallery from the outside of the building. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and by appointment.
