Santiago Canyon College Presents ‘Home for the Holidays’ on November 18

Full Complement of Talent Rounds Out Vibrant Holiday Show for the Entire Family

(Orange, CA)—The Santiago Canyon College (SCC) Performing Arts Department in Orange will present “Home for the Holidays,” on Saturday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the SCC gymnasium, located at 8045 E. Chapman Avenue.

Last year, a survey by American Express revealed that 13% of consumers attended a holiday theatre or musical. Holiday performances are integrated into the traditions that contribute to the excitement of the season.

‘Home for the Holidays’ is a colorful and festive holiday celebration of diversity in music and dance, directed by Dr. Binh Vu, chairperson of SCC’s Fine and Performing Arts Department. It features the SCC student Dance Ensemble, the Dance for Joy community dance ensemble, the SCC Collegiate Choir and Community Chorale, the Santa Ana High School Chorus, the Huong Duong Music Community Children’s Choir, and Symphony Irvine under the artistic direction of Dr. Dean Anderson conducted by Vu. The lineup also includes the Wimberley Bluegrass Band, comprised of four sibling SCC alumni, and a variety of other alumni performances.

“This program includes some of the best from a global holiday repertoire in music and dance including Christmas on Broadway, Rossini, Tchaikovsky, and of course the Hallelujah Chorus by Handel,” said Vu. “It’s a great way to get your family into the spirit of the season and appeals to children and adults alike.”

Tickets for ‘Home for the Holidays’ are available at the SCC Bookstore and Cashier’s Office on campus, or online at www.sccollege.edu/holidayshowcase. General admission tickets are $15 and $12 for students, staff, seniors, and children under 12. Tickets sold at the door and online are $15.
