RSCCD and SAC to Host Statewide Vision 2030 Noncredit Summit in Newport Beach

SANTA ANA, Calif. — Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) and Santa Ana College (SAC) will bring community college educators and leaders from across California together Oct. 7–9 for the Vision 2030 Noncredit Summit at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach West.

The three-day summit will focus on strengthening noncredit education as a pathway to higher education, workforce preparation and economic mobility for California’s adult learners. California Community Colleges Chancellor Sonya Christian is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on Thursday, Oct. 8. Noncredit leaders from RSCCD, SAC, and Santiago Canyon College (SCC) are also scheduled to present and share successful practices developed within the District.

“More than 6.8 million adults in California have not completed a college credential, and for many of them, noncredit education is the most accessible pathway to college, workforce preparation and greater economic opportunity,” said RSCCD Chancellor Marvin Martinez. “This summit brings faculty, classified professionals and administrators together to learn from one another, build partnerships and identify practical ways to strengthen noncredit programs so we can better serve California’s adult learners.”

Programming will include practical case studies, peer-led workshops, networking and four learning tracks addressing programs at different stages of development: Starting Strong, Workforce Forward, The Whole Student, and Policy & Power. An interactive AI Lab will also explore emerging applications of artificial intelligence in education.

The summit will be held Oct. 7–9 at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach West, 4545 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach.
