John D. Steffens Named Student Services Project Manager at Santa Ana College

(Santa Ana, CA)—Rancho Santiago Community College District has selected John D. Steffens as project manager for Student Services at Santa Ana College. In that role, he is responsible for managing performance requirements, schedules and budget. He will also organize, direct and evaluate the work of the project teams assigned to analyzing, designing and maintaining administrative requirements, processes and functions for college-wide information systems serving Student Services.

With more than five years of higher education management experience, Steffens, a Long Beach resident, brings experience in leading project teams, managing the implementation of grants for student success services, and managing contractor and vendor relationships. Previously, he served as director of application development for Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society at its national headquarters in Jackson, Mississippi. In this role he integrated existing software systems with new software he developed to cover gaps and worked with all departments to improve operations with technology. Prior to that, he served as the associate director of application development for the same organization. Earlier, he served as project manager for Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society.

He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. He also obtained a Master of Computer Science from University of Florida, Gainesville. In addition, he obtained a B.S. in computer science from Mississippi College, Clinton. Additionally, he earned an A.A. in business administration from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston.
