TechConnect Zoom Tool Upgrade

Please read the information below regarding scheduled maintenance for the new TechConnect Zoom tool occurring this Thursday, August 11th, between 10:00PM to 2:00AM PST. Faculty will be impacted the most by this change, a separate email with detailed instructions will be sent to all Faculty with guidance.

What:   The CCC Tech Center will be upgrading the previously branded ‘ConferZoom’ tool to the new ‘TechConnect Zoom.’

When:   This Thursday, August 11th, from 10:00PM to 2:00AM PST.

Who:   This Thursday, August 11th, from 10:00PM to 2:00AM PST.

Where:   Districtwide impact at all sites and locations is expected.

Why:   The CCC Tech Center has been managing the Zoom platform for all California Community Colleges. They are updating the backend management system, and requiring colleges local IT departments to manage Zoom. Part of this maintenance requires that the Canvas integration be migrated to the new user interface for TechConnect Zoom.

How to prepare / Action Required: Please ensure to complete your work if you are affected, using the steps below, before the scheduled maintenance time of August 11th.

Step 1: (This step is only required if you need to keep track of who has attended your Zoom meetings to date. Skip to step 2 if this is not the case)

Prior to the scheduled maintenance window, historical Attendance reports from Zoom must be exported. These historical reports will not be migrated, and you must manually export any required attendance reports if you wish to save this information.

Detailed instructions on how to export historical Attendance Reports in Zoom have been outlined in the article above.

Step 2: (This step is only required if you schedule Zoom meetings on behalf of another person. If this isn’t the case, skip this step, you are done!)

Your scheduling privileges in Zoom will need to be reconfigured after the scheduled maintenance window. Steps to reassign the scheduling privilege are outlined in the articles above.
