RSCCD was the recipient of the Outstanding Healthy Organization in Education and joined New American Funding (Business), SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union (Nonprofit) and Hoag Memorial Hospital (Healthcare) for their respective industry.

Chancellor Raul Rodriguez accepted the award on behalf of RSCCD at the 2nd Annual Creating Healthy Organizations Awards Breakfast held during the Creating Healthy Organizations Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Costa Mesa. RSCCD was honored for its commitment to creating and sustaining a healthy workplace.

"The mission of RSCCD is to provide quality educational programs and services that address the needs of our diverse students and communities," said Rodriguez. "In order to achieve this mission, we must first provide a positive work environment for our employees. We foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration rather than competition. Our colleges and district are great places to work and our organization is a healthy one because we care about our employees."
