Awareness and Support:
Los Angeles County Fires Update
January 9, 2025
Dear Faculty and Staff,
Our hearts go out to all those affected by the devastating wildfires currently surrounding our cities and communities, including our students, faculty, staff, and their loved ones. This is a time of great uncertainty and concern for many, and I want to assure you that the Rancho Santiago Community College District is here to support you.
We are closely monitoring the evolving situation and maintaining communication with our college and district teams to prioritize the safety and well-being of every member of our community. At this time, there is no threat to either of our campuses. Please take care of yourselves and your families during this challenging time, and remember that resources are available to assist you.
We encourage you to reach out if you or someone you know needs support, whether counseling services, emergency assistance, or guidance on navigating this crisis. Santiago Canyon College and Santa Ana College have resources in place, and our district is committed to helping in any way possible.
As in all times of crisis, our district is also prepared to collaborate with local officials and first responders to assist in recovery efforts and support the broader community.
Let us remember all those impacted by these wildfires and continue to support one another with care and compassion.
Please stay safe and vigilant. We will update you as we receive more information about the situation and additional ways to help.
Sincerely,
Marvin Martinez
