Career and Academic Pathways Exploration Fair introduces students to

SAC’s new Guided Pathways framework

Santa Ana, Calif. -- Santa Ana College (SAC) is setting the stage to help prepare current and future students for defining, entering and staying in their selected career paths with its first Career and Academic Pathways Exploration Fair on Thursday, November 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in SAC’s Central Grand Mall, 1530 W 17th St. in Santa Ana.

“The Career Exploration Fair at Santa Ana College will provide students an opportunity to learn about career options based on their chosen program of interest,” said SAC Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Fernando Ortiz. “Fair activities will be organized based on our new Guided Pathways framework.”

The Guided Pathways model is an integrated approach to student success based on structured educational experiences. The model guides students through a clear program map that includes course sequences, progress milestones and program learning outcomes aligned with what’s expected of students in their chosen careers and next educational step. Guided Pathways is also designed to simplify student decision-making and enable SAC to provide students with predictable schedules, frequent feedback and targeted support to help them efficiently complete their educational program.

In addition to introducing the community to SAC’s Guided Pathways, the Career and Academic Pathways Exploration Fair will include food, live music, giveaways and an opportunity to interact with SAC’s faculty and staff to learn more about the programs offered at the college.

The Career and Academic Pathways Exploration Fair is free to students currently enrolled at SAC, its School of Continuing Education, and high school students who have RSVP’d with Raquel Requena Ramirez.
