(Orange, CA) - Santiago Canyon College (SCC) will celebrate its 20th commencement on Thursday, June 6, at 6 p.m. In total, more than 1360 students, including 25 military veterans, will be awarded degrees.
Thursday’s commencement speech will be given by SCC political professor Cale Cramer. Cramer was one of several SCC faculty nominated for this honor and ultimately selected by a majority vote from the graduating class. Also addressing the Class of 2019 are President of SCC Dr. John Hernandez and President of the Rancho Santiago Community College District Board of Trustees Phillip Yarbrough.
Graduating student Jessica Huston will deliver the valedictory address. Huston is graduating with a 4.0 GPA in four degrees: an associate of arts for transfer in studio arts; and associate of arts in graphic design; an associate of arts in art; and an associated of arts in liberal arts with an emphasis in arts, humanities and communication.
"Santiago Canyon College proudly recognizes of the achievements of our 2019 graduating class," said SCC President Dr. John Hernandez. "We are confident that these students will make the most of the unparalleled educational experience and opportunities that SCC has provided, and we wish them much success in their future endeavors."
Santiago Canyon College’s commencement ceremony will be held at the college’s Vazquez Promenade, between H and SC buildings at 8045 E. Chapman Avenue in Orange. Tickets are not required to attend the commencement ceremony. Seating is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Free parking is available on campus in Lot #2, #3, #4, #5 and #6.
