(Santa Ana, CA)—Rancho Santiago Community College District named Madeline Grant as dean of the business division at Santa Ana College (SAC). In this role, Grant is responsible for leading and administering all aspects of the division, including the design, delivery, staffing, administrative support, and supervision of all division academic programs.
With 30 years’ experience in community college teaching and administration as well as 15 years’ experience as an international business professional, Grant brings a wealth of talents to this role. She has served as the interim dean of business at Santa Ana College since September 2014. In that role, she led the development of university articulation agreements, focused on regional and statewide partnerships under the Strong Workforce Program, and spearheaded the launch of the SAC Career Technical Education (CTE) Internship program.
Prior to that, she served as a tenured professor of business, marketing and international business at Santa Ana College. She taught international business, marketing, finance, logistics and importing, fundamentals of business, marketing and advertising for on-campus and online classes. She was honored as the Distinguished Faculty Award recipient in May 2014.
As department chair of global business and entrepreneurship, she helped secure Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) accreditation status for the program. She was a regular subject matter presenter at business/entrepreneurship conferences, including NASBITE International, IATTO (International Association of Trade Training Organisations), and more.
Prior to that, Grant taught as an adjunct instructor of business, marketing, and international business at Santa Ana and Santiago Canyon Colleges while she worked as an international business professional. For Pacific World Corporation in Lake Forest, she served as international marketing manager and as director of export sales. She also held key marketing and international business roles at Cosmar Corporation in Huntington Beach; Jardiniere International in Santa Fe Springs; Aromatic Industries, Inc., in Anaheim; and Sea Quest, Inc.; in Carlsbad. Prior to that, she served as trade specialist intern at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Grant earned a B.A. in international relations and business administration from the University of San Diego and an M.B.A. in international business from the Claremont Graduate School. She has also earned a credential as a Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) and accredited CGBP trainer. She serves as a member of the Santa Ana College Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of Women in International Trade of Orange County and NASBITE International.
