(Santa Ana, CA)— Santa Ana College (SAC) is currently hosting “In the Studio IV: Artists Who Teach,” featuring works from the California Art Education Association now through January 3, 2015, at the SAC ARTS Gallery at the Santora Building in the Artists Village in downtown Santa Ana.
Featured works by art educators from public schools ranging from elementary, middle, and high school through college and university levels from around Southern California include paintings, drawings, watercolors, 3-D sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media pieces. The exhibit is free and is open Fridays from 12 noon until 4 p.m. and during the First Saturday Art Walk from 7 p.m.-10 p.m., or by appointment. The SAC ARTS Gallery is located in the Santora Building at 207 N. Broadway, Suite Q in Santa Ana.
“Santa Ana College is proud to present this group of professional working artists who are also art instructors in Southern California public schools,” said Phil Marquez, SAC gallery director and assistant art professor, who organized and juried the exhibit, part of the community outreach program of the college’s art department.
The California Art Education Association , a professional educational organization of kindergarten through university art educators in California, developed the series and sought Santa Ana College to jury and host the event.
