Each college has a graphic designer available to create artwork for digital print production. Utilizing Macintosh computer applications the designers create documents incorporating text, photography and illustrations for
reprographics or
color digital printing.
Typical jobs include brochures, posters, announcements, booklets and newsletters.
Timelines for artwork production are dependent upon workload and complexity of the assignment. The graphic designers can develop artwork for in-house digital production, outside printers and vendors for banners, signs and other non-print applications.
A Publications Job Request Form is required for each in house job. Planning for complex print jobs is critical to the successful completion within requested timelines. A pre-production planning meeting with the publications manager, graphic designer and the customer will provide budget information, clear timelines, and benchmark dates for all production aspects. The content and mailing standards of designed and printed pieces are the responsibility of the requestor. Proofs are provided at all stages of development to ensure accuracy.
